1. The Participant acknowledgment and acceptance of terms
The Organizer will host an Event for the Participant to attend. The participation is subject to the Participant’s compliance with all the terms, conditions, and notices contained or referenced herein (the “Terms & Conditions”). By completing the registration process and/or attending the Event, the Participant agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you make a group registration, the group's leader is responsible for sharing these Terms & Conditions with all group members and is financially responsible for the booking. We will not be liable for a group leader’s failure to share these Terms & Conditions with all participants in their group.
2. Description of services
The Event shall be held and scheduled in accordance with the description provided by the Organizer. The Event will be hosted by Dr. Zahi Hawass. The Event will focus on the history of ancient Egypt and recent discoveries. Modifications may include but are not limited to changes in the pricing structure, the addition of fee-based services, or changes to the schedule of the Event. Any new features that augment or enhance the Event shall also be subject to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Registration
Registration for the Event will only be considered complete after payment has been received and approved. If payment is not made at the time of registration, registration will be considered provisional. Complete (fully paid) registration grants the Participant attendance to the selected event. Registration for the Event can be made only online through
www.zahilectures.com, or over the phone at 646-757-1717 through The Organizer's office. Registrations made through any other party or entity will not be accepted. Payments over the phone will include the (additional) convenience fee of $7 per registered person. Registrations will not be made on-site. We advise you to register as soon as possible as the event is expected to be sold out. Once the registration and payment have been completed, a confirmation email containing a PDF file with a QR code will be sent to the Participant. You must notify The Organizer immediately if there have been any mistakes with your registration, or if you have not received the confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of payment. It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that they received the confirmation email with a PDF file with a QR code. You should print your confirmation email, along with your QR code, and bring it with you to access the Event.
4. Flexible Policy
We understand the many "what ifs" you may be weighing when registering for future events. That is why our "Flexible Policy" has been included in those Terms & Conditions. Its most important element is an individual QR code on the Participant’s registration. Although the Participant’s registration will show the name of the Participant, the registration is not personal which means that the Participant may transfer their registration to another individual once up to 30 days before the Event without any charge, provided that any such individual will be bound by these terms and conditions. To change the name of the Participant, the Participant shall contact the Organizer at
contact@zahilectures.com. Changes made less than 30 days before the initial date of the Event will be considered according to individual conditions and the Organizer does not guarantee the change.
The Flexible Policy allows the Participant to whom the registration has been transferred to upgrade their admission package up to 30 days before the event by contacting the Organizer at contact@zahilectures.com. An admission package upgrade in such a case will be subject to availability.
5. Fees and payments
All Event prices are displayed on the Event’s website and are in U.S. dollars. Prices may vary depending on the time of registration. Once the payment has been received by the Organizer, the Participant is guaranteed the price, except in cases of obvious error. Any participant added at a later date will be subject to the prices in effect at the time of registration. All prices are subject to change without notice. The cost of attending the Event will need to be paid at the time of registration – via the link provided on the Organizer's website or over the phone at 646-757-1717 through The Organizer's office. All payments must be made in advance of attendance at the Event
Payments are to be made by credit or debit card. While we do accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, you must authorize every transaction concerning the Event. Your purchase will appear on your credit card statement as Archaeological Paths (the name of the Event Organizer). The Organizer reserves the right to change the payment methods which – upon such a change is made – shall automatically come into force. Your authorization is an agreement for us to charge your card and an acknowledgment and agreement to these Terms & Conditions including the Cancellation and Refund Policy. As such, you agree not to make any improper chargebacks related to your payments for the Event, other purchases, and services. In certain cases, you have the ability to dispute charges with credit card companies ("chargebacks"). Before initiating a chargeback, the Participant undertakes to send an email to contact@zahilectures.com concerning any questions or concerns about our charges so that we can work with you in an attempt to resolve your concerns. By registering for the Event, you accept and agree to our cancellation policy. The Organizer retains the right to dispute any chargeback that is improper and recover any costs, including attorney’s fees, related to improper chargebacks. Additionally, in the event of an improper chargeback, we retain the right to cancel any registration related to that improper chargeback. The following chargeback scenarios are improper and we retain the right to investigate and rebut any such chargeback claims:
- Chargebacks resulting from non-cancellable registrations, whether or not the registration is used.
- Chargebacks resulting from charges authorized by family, friends, associates, or other third parties with direct access to your credit card. This does not include credit card fraud.
- Chargebacks arising from inconsistency or inaccuracy with regard to the product description.
- Chargebacks resulting from force majeure or other circumstances that are beyond the control of the Organizer.
- Chargebacks resulting because you do not agree with the Terms & Conditions.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Once the registration is completed, all fees are non-refundable in any case if cancellation is made by the Participant. By registering for the Event, the Participant fully accepts and agrees that the fees are non-refundable if the Participant wishes to cancel the Event or if the Participant is not able to attend the Event for which they paid. If the Organizer determines that the Participant must be removed from the Event for inappropriate or illegal conduct, or if the Participant decides to leave the Event in progress voluntarily, the Participant shall not receive any type of refund.
We may cancel the Event at any time for reasons including, for example, availability or suitability of venue or speakers or on security, health, or safety grounds, and we may deny, limit, or cancel your Event registration at any time. Fees for the Event are only refunded if the Organizer cancels the Event in which case the Organizer will provide the Participant with a full refund of all net payments paid to the Organizer unless the cancellation is due to a force majeure or an extraordinary event that makes it infeasible to organize the Event as normal. We may choose to provide a voucher or credit to another event in lieu of a refund. In case of any reimbursement, all bank charges or card fees (a 3,9% fee which is included in the registration fee and the convenience fee of $7 if you made the registration over the phone) are to be covered by the Participant. The Participant is responsible for providing complete and correct details required by the Organizer to issue a refund. Any financial loss or costs incurred due to providing the Organizer with incomplete and incorrect details for reimbursement are the responsibility of the Participant. While the Organizer will make every effort to provide the Participant with a refund at the earliest possibility, the time of sending you a potential refund depends on many factors and may take up to 90 days after the scheduled date of the Event for which you registered.
Before, during, and after the Event, the Participant will have a chance to purchase the products and items offered by the Organizer or its partners. Payments for these products and items are non-refundable once the Participant receives their purchase.
7. Unlawful Re-Sale of Registrations; Commercial Purposes
The unlawful resale or attempt to resell your registration is grounds for seizure and cancellation without refund or compensation. Registrations for the Event shall not be used for advertising, promotions, contests, or sweepstakes, without written authorization by The Organizer.
8. Lost Confirmation of Registration
It is your responsibility to keep your QR-coded confirmation of registration safe. Replacement of lost, stolen, or missing confirmation may be permitted at our sole discretion, and fees may apply.
9. The Event
The Participant’s attendance of the Event is subject to all applicable laws and regulations, as well as these Terms & Conditions. By registering for the Event, you agree that you will abide by any requirements by the government, venue, the Organizer, or the Event in effect at the time of the Event, including (but not limited to) vaccination, mask-wearing, and QR code check-in. If you do not comply with these requirements, you will be refused entry into the Event and will not receive a refund.
Attending the Event while under quarantine or isolation orders is prohibited, and if you appear to have COVID-19 symptoms we may need to deny you entry or ask you to leave. Attending the Event when unwell exposes you and others at risk. We may impose a maximum registration limit for specific Events. Unless otherwise specified, the maximum number specified applies to the Event or season overall, not to each performance. Registrations in excess of a limit may be canceled without notice.
Seats at the venue where the Event is organized are not numbered and there is no possibility of booking a specific seat, but only an area of seats from the following options: General Admission, Preferred Admission, and VIP Admission. The Organizer reserves the right to freely arrange the seats and sections in the venues, and the layout of seats shown during the registration process is purely illustrative and is not intended to be an accurate description of the actual layout. Venue seating configurations can vary market-by-market. The Organizer shall not be responsible for the Participant having a seat with obstructed and limited view. Depending upon the particular seat and specific event this can result in an inability to see the complete stage. The Organizer cannot judge what portion of the stage you will not see because this varies for every show and is also affected by your height and the height of the participants in front of you. Booking the Preferred Admission and VIP Admission packages ensures you have the best seats available. The best seats are considered to be closest to the front and/or center of the stage.
The time of when the Event starts will be listed on our website. Doors open one hour before the start time. You are advised to arrive at the venue at least one hour before the start time as you may not be allowed entry after the start time. You will not be entitled to any type of refund if you are denied entry because you have arrived after the start time.
The Participant is responsible for verifying whether they have received an ID Badge for the Event that corresponds to the type of admission they registered for.
The Participant accepts that the cities in which the Event is to take place may not be the exact locations of a specific venue and that the Event may be organized in the vicinity of the cities advertised by the Organizer. The confirmed location of the Event will be provided during the registration process. The participant accepts that the venue where the Event is to be held may change at any time.
The Organizer will not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, or injury however caused nor any consequential loss or damage, arising from your visit to the Event, and you assume all risk associated with your visit to the Event. You are responsible for making your own inquiries before deciding whether the Event is suitable for you to attend. You are at all times responsible for your personal possessions such as bags, mobile phones, and other items you carry with you, and must not leave any of your possessions unattended at any time. The Event is subject to change due to weather or other concerns. Please check on the Organizer’s website (www.zahilectures.com) to ensure that the Event is taking place as scheduled. All additional costs connected to reaching the venue, including but not limited to parking fees or food and beverages are the responsibility of the Participant. We will not be responsible for any expenses incurred or to be incurred by you, for example, travel, car parking, child care, accommodation, or other goods or services, even if the Event is canceled.
The Organizer shall not be held liable for any inconvenience or disruption that may prevent the Participant from attending or completing the Event, including but not limited to strikes, protests, disturbances, technical issues, or any other events beyond the control of the Organizer. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property that may occur during the course of the Event, including but not limited to theft, accidents, or any other unforeseen events. The Participant is responsible for their own safety and well-being during the Event and is expected to comply with any rules or regulations put in place by the Organizer.
The Event will include a Q&A session and book signing at the end. The Participant accepts that – due to the time constraints and the number of participants attending the Event – not all questions may be answered during the Q&A session by Dr. Zahi Hawass, and not all books may be signed by Dr. Hawass, and the Participant agrees not to request a refund, cancellation, or chargeback of fees because of this.
10. VIP Admission
The VIP Admission includes a preshow VIP Meet & Greet with Dr. Zahi Hawass during which the Participant will have a chance to take a photo with Dr. Hawass or ask Dr. Hawass to sign their book(s) or other items. It’s required to arrive at the Event a minimum of an hour and a half before the official start time to be able to participate in the Meet & Greet. The VIP Admission also includes a VIP Pass (“Skip the Lines”) which can be used whenever the Organizer is able to guarantee its use. The use of the VIP Pass is subject to each venue’s regulations. The participant accepts that not all venues will make the use of the VIP Pass feasible and certain elements, including but not limited to an earlier entry, may not be provided due to internal rules of the venue and the Participant agrees not to make any request for a refund, cancellation, or chargeback of fees because of this. Package contents are subject to change at any time, and any changes do not entitle the Participant to any type of refund.
A book signing event will take place during the VIP Meet & Greet. If you are unable to get a signed book within the allotted time, you will have another chance after the General Q&A Session.
11. Health & Safety Policy
As of November 1, 2022, masks are welcomed but not required at the Event. We ask that the Participant be respectful of one another’s choices. Individual protocol for the Event may change based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the regulations of the venue. The Organizer will review its COVID-19 countermeasures policies regularly. Depending on the safety regulations during the date of the selected event, the Participant may require to have a valid vaccination or proof of a negative test. The Participant is responsible for understanding these requirements and must not rely on the Organizer to provide these details. The policy is subject to change as new information becomes available, without notice. As official local health guidelines evolve regarding COVID-19 safety protocols, selected venues may shift seating configurations and/or decrease capacity. The Participant agrees to respect all COVID-19 safety protocols valid on the day when the Event is organized.
To help ensure the safety and security of and at the Event, bags and personal belongings may be subject to visual inspection. Items that are prohibited at the Event include, but are not limited to: alcohol purchased from outside; food and beverage, glass bottles; offensive signs or clothing, laser pointers; and any other items that could present a safety hazard to others or interfere with the performance or enjoyment of the Event.

The Organizer will refuse to deal with and may remove the Participant from the venue if the Participant assaults staff, suppliers, or fellow participants or who is abusive or aggressive to them and is generally affecting the enjoyment of others with their behavior. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to or to remove from the Event any persons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct has been or is unlawful or offensive.

The Participant agrees to comply with any and all restrictions regarding the use of the content. Failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions, which make it illegal to distribute or share any content from the multimedia lecture, shall result in the Organizer taking appropriate legal actions to remove such content. The Participant agrees to reimburse the Organizer for any legal costs and any other costs connected to removing illegally distributed content from the internet or any other source. The Organizer shall also be financially compensated by the Participant for copyright infringement and illegal distribution of the content belonging to the Organizer.
16. General disclaimer and limitation of liability

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people gather. You assume all risks, hazards, and dangers arising from or relating in any way to the risk of contracting a communicable disease or illness—including, without limitation, exposure to COVID-19 or any other bacteria, virus, or other pathogens capable of causing a communicable disease or illness, whether that exposure occurs before, during, or after the Event, and regardless of how caused or contracted—and you hereby waive any and all claims and potential claims against the Organizer—and against any companies affiliated with the Organizer—relating to such risks, hazards, and dangers.
You acknowledge that the Event may be postponed or canceled or changes may be made to the Event, for which our COVID-19 Release of Liability shall be in effect. None of these modifications or changes listed in the "COVID-19 Release of Liability” section shall affect the price or entitle the Participant to any credit or refund. The venue capacity for the Event may be reduced in response to COVID-19-related restrictions after your registration has been completed (e.g., where the restrictions require us to operate under a specified venue capacity). In these circumstances, we may need to cancel your registration if we cannot accommodate you in accordance with the adjusted venue capacity. If we cannot accommodate your registration you will be entitled to the Flexible Policy identified in point 4.
